Redefining the Inspection Plan

During an inspection, there are cases when additional characteristics must be added to an inspection, or changes must be made to the nominal or tolerance. In this case, the Inspector will notify the Inspector Owner who will then make the required changes.

The inspection plan can only be edited for inspections in Inworks status and in the Perform Inspection phase. Users must have the appropriate rights. The INSP_Supervisor right is also required for a user who is not the owner. Once an inspection plan has been reopened, the Inspection Owner receives email notification . The user can access the workspace options and records from any of the default dashboards from the My Tasks tab.

From the Perform Inspection task, click Other Actions > Redefine Inspection Plan.
Result: The Redefine Inspection Plan window is displayed.
Enter a rationale for redefining the inspection plan.
Click the Sign-off button.
Result: The Sign-off window is displayed.
Enter your user ID and password and then click the Sign-off button.
Result: The Result window is displayed. The Result window is a window that displays and asks the user where they would like to go next, such as to the Inspection Detail or to the Define Inspection Plan phase.
Click the Define Inspection Plan link.
Result: The Define Inspection Plan window is displayed.
Edit the characteristic(s).

NOTE: When a variable or attribute characteristic is changed, then the characteristic is marked as Need Evaluation with a visual indicator that the user can see when the inspection is back in the Perform Inspection phase. The result is also reset.

Click the Sign-off button.
Result: The Sign-off window is displayed.
Enter your user ID and password and then click the Sign-off button.
Result: The Result window is displayed. The Result window is a window that displays after redefining the inspection plan and asks the user where they would like to go next, such as to the Inspection Detail or back to Perform Inspection phase.
